Grading and Attendance Policies
The ISS grades consist of an academic component and class attendance. It is required that ISS students meet both criteria to pass a course.
SKKU ISS uses a Pass/Fail grading system with a corresponding percentage scale. Students who acquire a grade/score beyond the minimum criteria set by a professor will be given a “Pass". Grading is at the professor’s discretion, so any appeals or requests regarding the grading/evaluation system should be directed to them.

Academic Evaluation
- Pass (P): grade of 60% or above
- Fail (F): grade below 60%

Attendance
- Pass (P): attendance of 80% or above
- Fail (F): attendance below 80%

Course Add and Drop
Adding or dropping courses is NOT allowed after June 2nd and during the entire ISS period. Please make sure you select the correct courses. Since the program lasts only four weeks, it is impossible for us to administer course changes. We appreciate your understanding.
Transcript and Certificate of Completion
A transcript and Certificate of Completion are available at the graduation ceremony only if a student completes the program successfully with a passing grade.
ISS Credits and Credit Transfer
Each ISS course which provides 3 academic credits requires students to fulfill 3 study hours per day (45 hours in 3 weeks) throughout the whole program, while Korean language courses worth 2 academic credits require fulfilling 2 study hours per day (30 hours in 3 weeks). This is not inclusive of the time students are expected to spend before or after class on assignments and preparation.
A student’s home university is responsible for recognizing SKKU ISS credits. SKKU only provides information on the grading system, course syllabus, and academic policy of the ISS. Therefore, all ISS participants who wish to transfer SKKU ISS credit are advised to contact their academic advisor at their home university in advance to ensure the ISS credits can be transferred successfully.
