2024 International Summer Semester (ISS) Begins

--Participation from approximately 750 students representing 90 universities from 37 countries.

▲ On June 28th (Friday), the 2024 ISS Orientation was held at the Small Theater of the Business Building on the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus.

The Office of International Relations announced that the 16th annual International Summer Semester (ISS), the university’s flagship internationalization program, will be held from June 28th (Friday) to July 26th (Friday) on the Humanities and Social Sciences Campus. This year, approximately 750 students from 90 universities across 37 countries are participating.

This year's ISS offers a total of 42 courses across various fields, including ▲Business/Economics, ▲Humanities/Social Sciences, ▲Data Science/Engineering, and ▲Korean/Korean Studies, available to both the university's students and those from partner universities abroad.

Classes will run from July 1st (Monday) to July 24th (Wednesday), every Monday to Thursday. In addition to classroom lectures, various cultural experience programs will be offered every Friday, such as visits to Gyeongbok Palace and the Blue House, cultural performances, amusement park visits, and factory tours. These activities aim to enhance foreign students’ interest and participation and foster exchanges between the university’s students and international students.

Following the main program, the Pre-session program, which started one week earlier, saw a higher number of students interested in Korean culture compared to last year. These students participated in Korean language and cultural experience activities, showing high satisfaction.

Additionally, during the ISS period, partner universities from the U.S., such as Loyola University Chicago, Bryant University, and Penn State University, hosted Faculty-led Programs, continually exploring the potential for the development of the ISS.
